How to make the best out of attending an Employment Fair?
Welcome to FUE Annual Employment Fair.  Please take a few minutes to read the tips below, which will prepare you for meeting your potential future employer. 
How to land your dream job?
- Dress formally because first impression last and impact decisions. 
 
- Be prepared with a pen/pencil and paper to take down notes. 
 
- Present your CV in a folder or an L-shaped plastic file. 
 
- Have names and phone numbers of at least three professional references with you. 
 
- Remain calm and wait for your turn to approach the employer 
 
- Select and focus your efforts on three companies that you are truly interested in.
 
- Show your sensitivity to the employers’ valuable time; do not monopolize an employer's time; ask specific questions and, if needed, politely ask permission to follow-up on the submitted application. 
 
- Learn about the company you are applying to. You impress an employer by showing that you are familiar with  his/her company. 
 
- Clearly state your intention of speaking with him/her, whether you are interested in a certain position or  just gathering information. 
 
- Use eye contact and a firm handshake.  
 
- Ask the employer about the recruitment process and ask  for his/her business card for follow-up.  
 
- Say thank you, take the time to send a thank you note or e-mail to the company representatives you met at the employment fair. It's a good way to show your interest in the company and to show company representatives that you are a promising candidate. 
 
How to prepare a good CV?
- Avoid using different types of colors and font sizes. The font type should either be Times New Roman or Arial.
 - Use bullets in their right places to list the main points.
 
- The number of CV pages should not exceed 2 full pages. Length is not essential if it does not add useful information.  
 - Do not exaggerate or assume an arrogant approach.
 - Be specific when listing your skills.
 - Know the requirements of the job you are applying for.   
 - Make sure that when you list your responsibilities you include tasks and skills that are relevant to what the desired job requirements. 
 - Check your punctuation and grammar. 
 - Consider your e-mail address before writing it down, make sure it's  professional and is not casual, childish or friendly. 
 - Last step, is to have someone you trust revise your CV for incorrect grammar, mistypes, formatting, inaccuracies and misplaced information.
